Dear Toler Families,

Welcome back! We have experienced a very smooth and enthusiastic opening of the 2008-2009 school years.

As I mentioned at our parent meeting, we are still waiting for our enrollment to settle. During the summer, Toler was selected to be part of the district’s Class Size Reduction Study. For the next three
years the average class size in our K-1-2 classrooms will be 15 students. Because of this change, you will see some new teachers here at Toler. I encourage you to come to Open House on Thursday, September 25, where we will introduce our new teachers and welcome back all of our wonderful
teaching staff.

My goal this year is to continue to support our students on their journey towards academic excellence. The entire Toler staff is dedicated to your child’s academic, social and emotional growth. We are very proud of how our students take personal responsibility for their jobs as learners and citizens of our school community.

I am encouraging you to maintain the high level of support that you have given in the past. As you know, a student’s success is directly correlated to parental involvement in their school community. We support our district’s goal of increasing attendance. Please help by ensuring that your
child does not miss any part of his/her school day.

Your PTA has worked very hard this summer. They are a dynamic group and do everything they can for our students. Please welcome our new PTA president, Erin Leonhardt. We are so grateful that she accepted this role. Together with our incredible PTA board they are a winning team. I look forward to getting to know all of you.

Please feel free to stop in and chat- my door is always open.

Here’s to a successful year!
