PTA Council Office Relocates to Ballard Center

The San Diego Unified Council of PTAs has moved its office from Fay Elementary to the Harold J. Ballard Parent Center in Old Town. From this central location, the PTA Council will serve the 95 school PTAs within the San Diego Unified School District. The office address is 2375 Congress Street, Bungalow 7. The phone number (619) 297-7821 remains the same. The mailing address is 4100 Normal Street, San Diego (92103). The Council office is open every Monday, from 9 a.m. to noon, during the summer.

Discover Program Course Offerings

Take advantage of the great professional development opportunities offered by the Discover Program  Adobe PDF  throughout the 2008-29 school year. Registration is still open for the following August course offerings:

  • 4th Grade Social Studies: California History through The Different Eras: Strategies, Pacing, and Projects  (.5 cr.) – August 5
  • Strengthening Your Curriculum! (.5 cr.) - August 11-13
  • American Sign Language I (2.5 cr.) - August 12 - September 30

  • Free Kid’s Day
    The San Diego Unified Police Department and STAR/PAL are organizing a Free Kid’s Day  Adobe PDF  on Wednesday, August 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Colina Park. Activities include a soccer clinic, golf, swimming and a barbeque lunch. The event is free to the first 100 kids, ages 9-13 years, who turn in a waiver Adobe PDF. For information, contact Det.   • New ERAA Back to School Conference & Festival
    The New Everybody Recommitting to Academic Achievement Conference (ERAA) is holding its fourth annual Back-to-School Conference & Festival Adobe PDF  on Saturday, August 23, at Lincoln High School. The theme of this free conference is “Students Achieving and Succeeding” and its goal is to help parents and students activate their knowledge, skills, and resources to work together to achieve and succeed.
