San Diego Teachers Asked to Volunteer at Qualcomm Stadium Evacuation Center

SAN DIEGO -- With hundreds of children evacuated to Qualcomm Stadium and Mira Mesa High School, San Diego Unified School District and the San Diego Educational Association (SDEA) are seeking teacher volunteers to provide activities for evacuated children.

Teachers who are interested in volunteering should contact SDEA offices at (619) 283-4411 or view informational handout Adobe PDF..

Teachers must first check in at the SDEA office at 10393 San Diego Mission Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA. This location is close to Qualcomm Stadium. Volunteers must provide identification that they are a teacher such as a paycheck, teacher identification card, school ID card, or a CTA identification card. They must also bring photo identification.

Check in will occur at the SDEA offices from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organized activities at Qualcomm and Mira Mesa High School at 9 a.m. and conclude at 5 p.m. Teacher volunteers will be asked to provide two hours of service.

Arts and crafts supplies including crayons, paints, paper and books will be gratefully accepted from any individual or company wishing to donate them. Please drop them off at 10393 San Diego Mission Road, Suite 100, San Diego, CA.
