Application Process

The Magnet application is now part of one Enrollment Options Application. Complete only one application for each student, listing all schools to which you are applying. This may include Magnet schools, as well as VEEP, Open Enrollment and PISC.

Choose up to five schools: Enrollment Options allows you to choose from one to five schools during the priority application period. Additional schools listed beyond the five will be added to your application with a non-priority February 1 date. Please read more about each of the elementary and secondary Magnet schools before completing your application.

Priority Application Period: Applications received between October 1 and January 31 are considered priority. Magnet priority applications will be sorted by geographic high school cluster of residence. Applications for each program are placed on grade level wait lists in accordance with the following factors:

• Criteria for priority, as listed and verified on the application
• Random, computer-generated number assigned to each application

The school will notify you of an offer for enrollment during the Priority Application Enrollment Period: Grade level, ranked lists will be sent to Magnet schools on March 15. Schools must accept students in order from the list for each grade level between March 15 and May 15.

Applications submitted after January 31 will be added to the lists by the date and time received and will be sent to the schools on May 15 for enrollment as space allows.
